The Quest for Enlightenment

Note from the Webmaster:

To all my fine Masonic Brethren, I can only hope you will take the time to browse this page and it's links and explore the very wonderful world of reading literature with Masonic content and(or) written by Masonic authors.

I know many of you may not think that there is literature to be read left in the world that is worth it's weight in "beans and cornbread".  I can only hope you will take the chance that the books are there, available, waiting to be read.

The first and foremost book, of course, is The Holy Bible.  The "how to" book for each Freemason to live by as well as it's historic references to what should be considered the earliest beginnings of our Ancient Craft.  I cannot encourage each Mason enough to read it and study it's meaning and hopefully apply it to daily living.

The list of authors is long, with many well known and more not so well known.  Their contributions to the literary world cannot, and should not, be diminished if their names are unfamiliar.  Discovering these authors and their writings is relatively easy in today's internet world.  It is as simple as going to www.amazon.com or www.barnesandnoble.com and using the built in search engine for their respective sites.  A quick search at Barnes and Noble site returned 2634 listings from the word freemasonry.  The same search at Amazon returned 16,608 books alone with various other items.  Another search at Books-a-Million produced 2,190 items.

I am not saying that all the books on these two (of many other) websites where the literature can be easily found and(or) purchased are "the one" for you, but each web vendor generally has a short description of the book and it's content (and sometimes samples from the book).  Take the time to check it out online.  I ask you to also consider browsing the local book stores (Barnes and Noble, Books-a-Million, Walden Books) and even few used book stores have copies available that may be out of print and seemingly unavailable.

I had managed to "stumble" upon a few books (before the internet) and purchased a few and so began my modest collection of books with connections to Freemasonry.  Many were purchased during trips to Texas Grand Lodge communications in Waco and other cities.  A few are even signed by the author who happened to be at those places when I purchased their books and gladly signed and dated the books.  I managed to find a few in garage sales, estate sales, rummage sales and antique shops.  The literature is available, you just have to make the effort.

Enough on finding the books, read them and receive the Light available in them.  This is part of what you may wish to examine.

The links on this page will take you to various sites with books and information about the books and the authors can be found.  Enjoy and become enlightened.  My best guess is that you won't regret taking the time.
